The GROSS GHZ B4 is a compact horizontal shredder for long pieces of wood such as battens, profiles and narrow square timbers. The manual angled feed allows the offcuts to be fed into the cutting mechanism conveniently and in a controlled manner. Thanks to its compact dimensions, the shredder can be positioned directly next to the processing machine. This allows offcuts to be processed immediately and reduces internal transport distances.

Technical specifications

Long pieces of wood, such as battens, profiled timber or narrow square timbers, are fed into the inclined feed chute by hand. A feed roller grips the material and guides it in a controlled manner towards the rotor. There, the rotating cutting blades shred the wood against a fixed counter-blade.

The material remains in the cutting chamber until it can pass through the openings in the screen mounted below the rotor. The selected screen mesh size determines the particle size. The resulting wood chips are then removed from the machine via a dust extraction system or a screw conveyor and sent for further processing.
